The vines of Beru sit quite high – roughly 400 metres above sea leavel – and that was their downfall in 2016; as they lost virtually their whole crop to frost on the night of the 26/27 April 2016. Athénaïs was only able to save a couple of barrels worth of fruit from her holdings.
This bottling is a blend from her Orangerie, Monstarre, and Côte aux Prêtres vineyards. Both an emblem of the resiliency of the Beru family and a warning sign of the dangers of climate change; this wine is extremely concentrated due to the small yields and will showcase the beauty of Chablis for decades to come.
